Originally from Eastern North Carolina, Doug Core, is a graduate of Appalachian State University. After graduation in 1974, he moved to the Charlotte area and began his career selling properties on Lake Norman. After working in residential real estate, Doug's interest turned toward commercial and investment real estate. He began taking commercial and investment courses in the early 80's and began his transition to become a full-time commercial broker concentrating in the Gaston, Lincoln, and Catawba County markets.

Doug has represented and brokered hundreds of transactions including land, industrial, retail and investment properties. He has also invested in and developed real estate properties for himself and for various partnerships. His experience and expertise includes working with and managing commercial properties, residential and industrial subdivisions, industrial and flex properties, medical office building and residential rental properties. Clients include Crescent Resources, Peoples Bank, State Employees Credit Union and many individuals, development firms, and real estate partnerships.

Doug is a past president of the Lincoln County Board of Realtors and also served on the Charlotte Regional Partnership Board. He has been a member of Charlotte Commercial Board of Realtors since the establishment of the board. For ten years, Doug served on the board of directors of the Lincoln County Economic Development Association and served as chair for three years. Doug has been active in the community. From his experiences as a Boy Scout, Doug became involved in scouting and served as a scout leader. He started a scout troop at his home church, Hills Chapel United Methodist Church, and continues to be a Friend of Scouting. As a Denver Lake Norman Rotarian, Doug has helped raise funds for Junior Achievement in Lincoln County Schools. He ran a fund-raising program, Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon that raised thousands of dollars for the program. Doug also served on the Lincoln County Junior Achievement Board. As a charter member of the Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club, he participates in many community projects such as Rotary Park in East Lincoln area, donating time to raise money for scholarships for Lincoln County School students.

Doug lives in Gaston County with his wife Debbie. He has two children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and woodworking among others.
